Long time resident Scott Inglis has filed as a candidate for Seat 4 of the Fernandina Beach City Commission currently held by Mayor James Antun.
Inglis is the chairman of Fernandina's Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival, the largest public event staged annually in the city.
He will run against former Vice Mayor Len Kreger for the seat. Antun has not declared whether he will seek re-election.

"I'm running for city commissioner to bring common sense, transparency, and resident first thinking back to city hall," Inglis told the Observer. "This town deserves leadership that listens first, protects what makes Fernandina unique, and puts residents ahead of outside interests."
Inglis has posted on Facebook that he is an opponent of paid parking in historic downtown, which was approved last Tuesday by a 4-1 commission vote.
He currently is a mechanical technician at Pedego Electric Bikes of Amelia Island.
Inglis moved to Nassau County in 1992 and lived several years in Fernandina Beach before moving to Yulee. He returned to the city in 2002.
Inglis has also served as second vice president of American Legion Post 54 and a participant in the annual Concours d' Lemons car show.
