Waste Management's proposed once a week trash pickup for residential properties and 5-year contract will be voted on by the City Commission this Tuesday. The contract will require two successive affirmative votes by the commission to be approved.

The City solicited proposals for garbage & recycling services by RFP #22-08.
Three proposals were received with Waste Management proposing the best value.
The current price for existing services (2 x week collection) is $20.37/month
The low bid for 2 x week collection services is $31.95/month
The low bid for 1 x week collection is $25.17/month
The Commission elected to proceed with developing a contract with Waste Management for 1 x week collection by Resolution 2022-219
The proposed contract reads: Residential
1. Frequency of collection: Grantee will, on a regularly scheduled day, pick up solid waste at the curbside adjacent to each residence all household garbage one time per week; bulk waste will be collected one time per week on days agreed upon by the Grantee and Granter. Pickups may not be reduced by holidays, and pickups normally scheduled to be made on a holiday must be rescheduled and occur in the same week as the holiday. Grantee, at its sole expense, must notify
residences served of the holiday observed and regular pickup schedules at least five days in advance by publication in a local paper or other means approved by Granter.
Short term rental owners are covered as follows:
Roll-out/Roll-back service: Those customers holding a Short-Term Resort Rental license are required to have Roll-out/Roll-back service, for which a fee will be charged.
